The Story
VOYAGER Discovery Set C gathers eight ways to look at something familiar and find a little more inside it. There is fruit beside a cup of tea, a forest seen from beneath very tall trees, and a mountain view that keeps changing as the mist moves. There are also two very different encounters with durian. Each fragrance comes in a 2 mL glass sample, giving the set eight separate starting points and 16 mL in total.
C Major opens the collection with Peach, Citrus and Oolong Tea, a friendly meeting of juicy fruit and a rounded tea character. Yggdrasil goes looking for the great tree in a redwood forest, following green leaves into smooth Sandalwood and earth. Eternal Veil pauses for the morning fog, with fresh flowers, powdery softness and a touch of warmth beneath. Elation brings the scene closer to an everyday smile through Bergamot, Melon, flowers and soft woods. These four move through quite different landscapes while leaving plenty of small textures to notice.
Yellow!! takes colour as its compass and goes straight towards a generous spread of tropical fruit. Green Fairy follows a more mischievous green, inspired by the image of water dissolving sugar above absinthe, with cool herbs, bitter details and an earthy foundation. Golden Hour finds its appetite in tropical fruit, sweet coconut milk and sticky rice. Fantastic takes you into a durian orchard while its trees are still in bloom, building a floral portrait around Durian Blossom and the tart, creamy impression of Yogurt Accord.
That last pairing gives the collection a particularly interesting turn: Golden Hour explores durian as part of a dessert scene, while Fantastic stays with the flower that comes before the fruit. It is one of several little discoveries to make as you move through the samples.
