Chanalaj

Chanalaj means “flower of the moon.” The name leads to the scene behind the fragrance: lotus flowers opening above still water. It began with something that was actually witnessed on a full-moon night. A breeze moved the moon's reflection across the pond as a few lotus flowers slowly opened. The sight recalled Anodat Pond, a legendary lake in Thai literature whose lotus scent is said to reach Mount Kailash, the home of Shiva. A real memory found a connection with a familiar story.

Lotus is the flower at the centre of this memory. Its softness carries a faint herbal shade, and the cool air around it feels as important as the petals themselves. The fragrance makes room for that setting: moisture above the water, small movements of air and a flower gradually becoming easier to notice in the quiet.

Neroli, Hyacinth and Mandarin give the opening a clear, fresh brightness. The citrus keeps the flowers airy before Lotus becomes more distinct. Ylang Ylang adds a creamy floral softness, while Watery Notes maintain the impression of water beneath the blossom. These details keep the scene close and simple, allowing the flower and its surroundings to be sensed together.

Musk and Vanilla make the final stage warmer and smoother. The sweetness sits gently around the florals, rounding their edges while leaving some of the opening's clarity. Lotus remains easy to recognise within this softer setting. The change from cool freshness to quiet warmth follows the feeling of staying beside the pond after the breeze has passed, with the scent of the flowers still in the air.
