CAPIAURA

This fragrance was inspired while we were watching a travel show about various onsen locations in Japan. We stumbled upon one particular onsen in Tochigi Prefecture, called “Kingdom Onsen – Capybara no Yu” 「王国温泉 カピバラの湯」at Nasu Animal Kingdom 「那須どうぶつ王国」. They offer the unique experience of enjoying an onsen while observing capybaras up close. The special feature of this onsen is that it is divided into two sections: the indoor area and the outdoor area. While soaking in the onsen indoors, you can look outside and see the capybaras relaxing in the water. One of the remarkable aspects of this place is that every Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday, the park floats flowers or fruits on the water, adding a vibrant touch to the onsen. However, what impressed us the most was the image of floating yuzu fruits on the water, with one perfectly placed on the head of a capybara. It became a tremendous source of inspiration for creating the fragrance CapiAura, which signifies “radiant capybara.”

CapiAura opens with the citrusy scent of yuzu and bergamot, complemented by a fresh grassy fragrance to create a refreshing green aroma. Various ingredients are added to evoke the scent of minerals or the essence of an onsen. We then incorporated the scent of Castoreum Synthetic to represent the capybara, while reducing the animalic notes with jasmine to convey the image of a clean capybara. The base notes were designed to create a moist atmosphere, using oakmoss and vetiver to enhance the ambiance of joy while watching the capybaras blissfully soaking in the water.

Furthermore, CapiAura fragrance collaborates with Chebbear studio, which draws inspiration from capybaras to create diverse artworks, including graphics, stickers, and Art Toy cap. These creations feature characters that can be found on the sticker placed on the fragrance box. Additionally, special bottle caps have been produced specifically for those who adore the charming capybara, which can be used interchangeably with other fragrances from the Voyager line.
